Community Arts: Drawing

To begin with we shall be concentrating on the basics of how to draw. A lot of this is to do with looking at objects carefully to see what shape and proportion they are.

We will start off by drawing from simple shaped objects (e.g. fruit and vegetables), man-made objects (e.g. mechanical objects), buildings (interiors and exteriors), landscapes (urban and rural) and people (portraits and full-length figure studies).

We will also be using drawing to help develop ideas. This will include work to show you how to develop ideas and create shapes from your imagination. This will relate to other craft subjects included as part of the VTOS programme.

Media Used

During the course you will use a variety of different types of drawing media. These will include pencil, charcoal, coloured pencils, oil pastels, and paints. Part of the course will involve experimenting with and learning how to use these media.
