Community Arts: Painting
A painting always starts with drawing, so we shall be reinforcing the work on observation of proportion and shape covered in the drawing module. This will include the use of a grid to set out the composition. Early in the course we will cover colour mixing in some detail. We will also explore the theory of colour and the way that colour can be used in painting as well as other creative ideas.
The subject material that we shall be working from will include man-made objects, natural objects, and people. As the course progresses there will be opportunity for a personal approach to the projects set.
Media Used
During the course you will use oil paints, acrylic paints and water-colours as well as oil pastels. You will be experimenting with various techniques and learning how to use these painting media.
