Childcare

This is an 8 module FETAC Level 5 course in Childcare.

  • This course aims to promote good practice, equality of opportunity and respect for diversity in lifestyles, religion and culture in the Early Years.
  • It will give the student the recognised Level 5 Certification to work as:
    • a childcare assistant
    • a special needs assistant
    • a class room assistant.
  • It will allow the student to apply for 3rd level courses
  • It will improve the student's own parenting skills.

Subjects covered during the two year course include:

  • Caring for Children (0-6 years)
  • Child Development
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Working in Childcare
  • Art & Craft for Childcare
  • Understanding Special Needs

All students must complete 80 hours work experience in a childcare setting.
