Sociology provides an ideal introduction to the subject. It enables students
to develop a greater understanding of how human societies are constructed
and where our beliefs and daily routines come from. Above all else it
is about developing a critical understanding of society.
For students wishing to further develop a greater understanding of sociology,
there is an opportunity to study (over 2 years) for the Certificate in
Social Studies, validated by the National university of Ireland, Maynooth.
