Crèche
Introduction
We are a well-established sessional care facility situated on the grounds of The Adult Learning Centre here in Kilrush.
The crèche is a separate unit pleasantly located, having its own private outside play area, surrounded by a well-maintained lawn area.
The staff are encouraged to develop a warm and trusting relationship between themselves, the child and their parents while expolring this safe environment in an enjoyable way. The creche meets all the mid-western Health Board requirements, rules and regulations.
Facilities
The crèche is registered for:
- 11 babies
- 16 pre school children.
The baby and toddler play room is furnished and equipped with an abundance of toys and equipment suitable for this age group.
The sleeping area is monitored, heated and furnished with cots for babies who need a nap in a safe environment.
The kitchen is adjacent to the baby area providing easy access for staff when needed. This area contains two fridges storing labeled children's food and drinks provided and prepared by parents.
The pre school play area is well equipped with furniture and toys to suit the age group attending, this area may also include school children.
- A pre-prepared weekly thematic approach is planned by Berni offering the children a well-balanced programme of play and learning activities.
- The facility also provides a nappy changing area, two toilets and wash units.
- The crèche is also used as a training establishment for students on child care courses.
Booking
This facility is available to children of parents or guardians who attend VTOS, Youth Reach, BTEI, and Adult Literacy courses.
Your child's place needs pre-booking prior to date of acceptance.

Kilrush Crèche is managed by nursery nurse Berni Kelly and four well-experienced and qualified staff each having a current First Aid Certificate. The Crèche provides a high quality, loving, stimulating and caring environment for children which will allow their parents to avail of Education and Training opportunities.
